CA to reject poor SARs: NCA says it is receiving many poor quality Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) disclosures, and that as a result is struggling to meet its obligation to grant or refuse consent within seven days. So it has decided that from 15 September it will reject disclosures that omit either the reasons for suspicion or a statement regarding criminal property. It will notify firms of the rejection and the reason for it, and will remind them that if they remain suspicious, they will have to make another, acceptable, disclosure.
