A contractor won an all expenses-paid trip to a gated community when he was hired to renovate a Myrtle Beach building and decided to ignore those pesky environmental regulations dealing with asbestos removal. The contractor was told the exterior contained asbestos, but instead of following regulations designed to prevent exposure to his workers and others, he directed his employees to use a pressure washer to remove the siding, releasing asbestos fibers which contaminated not only the work area, but also adjacent buildings and part of the beach.
Something to think about during your holiday trip to Myrtle Beach next week …
