Ohio is poised to adopt a military sales practices rule based on the NAIC Model Regulation. The Ohio rule will take effect on September 29, 2007. Consistent with the NAIC Model, the Ohio rule will regulate the sale of insurance products to members of the U.S. Armed Forces. The NAIC adopted the Model Regulation in response to Congressional action; each state is required to report to Congress by September 29, 2007 on progress toward adoption of standards.
