In February 2008, the Texas Service Center (TSC) initiated the “Plus Pilot” program to streamline the adjudication of concurrently-filed immigrant petition (Form I-140) and adjustment of status applications (Form I-485). Under this program, one officer reviews the packet as a whole, which includes the Forms I-140 and I-485, as well as the applications for employment authorization (Form I-765) and advance parole (Form I-131). Requests for Evidence (RFE) may now cover multiple applications; alternatively, related RFEs may be sent simultaneously. After a brief delay in the program in the summer of 2008, the TSC has now re-started the program and is aiming to adjudicate these applications within 90 days. Some filings, however, may not be adjudicated within 90 days due to security clearances or the need for further evidence.
