On 27 June 2013, the FCA published the results of its thematic review of the mobile phone insurance market. Nine firms (consisting of a mix of insurers, administrators and sellers of such insurance) were reviewed. Key concerns identified included (a) unfair/unclear policy terms and conditions and (b) poor sales practices (e.g. the automatic inclusion of cover in online sales of mobile phones). The FCA confirmed that it may, at some point in the future, assess how firms have responded to the findings.
