On the 1 February 2012, new compensatory limits were introduced as follows:
- Limit on a week’s pay for statutory redundancy pay and basic award for unfair dismissal increased from £400 to £430.
- Maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal increased from £68,400 to £72,300.
- Minimum basic award for particular unfair dismissals, for example dismissals due to health and safety duties, trade union membership or activities, pension scheme trustee duties or acting as an employee representative increased from £5,000 to £5,300.
The above changes effect awards made on or after 1 February 2012.
