Air France-KLM is to face a claim in the Dutch Courts totalling more than €400 million for its role in an air cargo price-fixing cartel. This figure could increase if there is an additional award of interest on damages accumulated since 2000. Philips Electronics and Ericsson are amongst the list of claimants from a range of industries including the motor, food and pharmaceutical sectors.

Air France-KLM has already paid out $87 million in damages to settle claims in the US and a further $350 million fine after pleading guilty to US anti-trust charges in 2008, however it has so far failed to settle with its European customers.

The Commission has been investigating the air cargo cartel since 2007 and the findings of that investigation are expected later this year.
