On March 8, 2018, President Trump signed the Proclamations imposing a 25% tariff on steel imports and a 10% tariff on aluminum imports. For the time being, the tariffs will not apply to Canada or Mexico based on national security considerations. There may be carve-outs in the future for other countries as well. We will give a more detailed report once we have had a chance to review the text of the proclamations.
