The Central Bank of Ireland (the Central Bank) has published its first macro-financial review of 2014. The review provides an overview of the current macro-financial environment in Ireland. Its aims are twofold: (i) to help the public, financial-market participants and international and national authorities better evaluate financial risks; and (ii) to promote informed dialogue on the financial system’s strengths and weaknesses and efforts to strengthen its resilience.
The review assembles some of the material kept under surveillance by the Financial Stability Committee of the Central Bank of Ireland. The review focuses on downside risks but better-than-expected outcomes are also possible. It evaluates developments since the previous review, published in December 2013.
