On 17 January 2014, four intellectual property offices in North China, comprising Beijing IP Office, Tianjin IP Office, Shanxi IP Office, and Inner Mongolia IP Office, signed an agreement in Beijing, thereby bringing into being the North China Coordination Center for Patent Administrative Enforcement. 

The coordination center was set up with a view to enhance operational efficiency and quality in patent rights protection via administrative means in North China by promoting coordination of enforcement efforts of the IP offices in the region.
