EPA has just released its list of the top 25 cities having the most floor space in ENERGY STAR recognized buildings. Houston ranked third with more than 58 million square feet in 145 recognized ENERGY STAR buildings. Dallas-Fort Worth ranked 5th, Austin 13th, and San Antonio 16th. These four metropolitan areas had 404 Energy Star qualified buildings in 2008, which resulted in $130.7 million in energy cost savings.
