On 13 January 2014, the Association of British Insurers (ABI) in the UK published guidance on good practice for mobile phone insurance providers, administrators and retailers. This follows a review conducted in 2011 by the FSA (the predecessor to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)) in the UK, which identified disparities between what such products delivered and what consumers had been given to expect in that regard. The guidance provides examples of good practice in areas such as product design, sales practices and the proper handling of claims and complaints.
