The EU has amended Council Decision 2010/656/CFSP in order to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2153 (2014), which renews and modifies the arms embargo against Ivory Coast. By virtue of the amendments, it is no longer prohibited to sell, supply or transfer non-lethal materiel to Ivory Coast. The arms embargo remains in place for lethal materiel, which includes, among other things, weapons, ammunition, rockets, missiles, mortars, armed aircraft, military armed vehicles and explosive devices. The EU has also lifted the ban on the import of rough diamonds from Ivory Coast.
