The Senate and House versions of economic stimulus legislation both contain numerous provisions related to energy. The energy provisions appear in many, sometimes unexpected places in the bills, and the terms differ between the House and Senate versions. This document compares the energy provisions of the House stimulus bill with those of the Senate bill, which was approved by a vote of 61-37 on Feb. 10, 2009.
The final provisions of the bills will be determined through the House-Senate conference that is already underway. Sonnenschein will continue to track the stimulus legislation closely and we will report the final energy-related provisions when they are settled.
