During the National Association of Health Underwriters conference in D.C. on Feb. 14, Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., told attendees that repealing all of the Affordable Care Act taxes in the first budget reconciliation bill may not be advisable. He pointed to the dearth of funding for any replacement plan that would result from immediate, full repeal. Instead, Sen. Cassidy indicated that the individual and employer tax could be repealed right away, while the health insurance fee and medical device tax could be delayed until Congress considers a second reconciliation bill or tax reform legislation.
