The Senate Commission has approved exemption of Income Tax on the 13th salary by means of Bill of Law No. 266/2012.
According to its author, this exemption is justified by the fact that the 13th develops the economy for raising Christmas purchases and contributing to savings by the working class, besides being frequently used for expenses related to education.
This tax relief may be compensated by the increase of resources related to the taxation of consumption and corporate income tax.
On 06.19.2013, the Commission of Social Matters of the Senate approved the bill of law. It will still be analyzed by the Commission of Economic Matters, which will decide under a definitive basis and it will then be examined by the House of Representatives.
