The FSA has fined mortgage lender Cheshire Mortgage Corporation Limited (“CMCL”) £1.2 million. CMCL specialised in lending to “vulnerable” poor credit borrowers, and was found on occasions to have failed to take steps to communicate effectively with customers, treat customers fairly when they fell into arrears and ensure that loans were affordable to customers. The FSA has also fined CMCL’s CEO Henry Moser £70,000 and CMCL’s Compliance Director Andrew Lawton £13,500.
