EBA has published its annual work programme for 2016, describing its specific activities and tasks for the coming year. EBA’s work for 2016 is defined under 34 activities in the following strategic areas:

  • the development and maintenance of the Single Rulebook;
  • promoting the development and coordination of resolution policy and resolution plans, and developing common approaches for the resolution of failing financial and credit institutions and financial market infrastructures;
  • promoting the convergence of supervisory practices to a high standard including provision of training to Competent Authorities so as to ensure that regulatory and supervisory rules are implemented equally;
  • identifying and analysing trends, potential risks and vulnerabilities stemming from the microprudential level;
  • maintaining and developing the common supervisory reporting framework, as well as strengthening its role as an EU data hub for the collection, use and dissemination of data on EU banks;
  • protecting consumers and monitoring financial innovation;
  • ensuring secure, easy and efficient payment services across the EU; and
  • its own effective corporate governance and efficient processes.
