The ACCC's annual telecommunications report, which includes a report on competitive standards and a report on changes in prices, has been tabled in Parliament. The report summarises developments in the telecommunications sector and ACCC activities in 2012-13 and indicates that non-price factors (such as network quality and customer service) are becoming important sources of competition. In relation to pricing, the report indicates that the downward trend in prices for services has continued (falling by around 1.5% in real terms). The biggest price reductions relate to calls to international numbers from landline telephones (down 21.2%) and calls to mobiles from landline telephones (11.7%).
