Panamanian project Chiriquí Grande - Panama III 500kV aims to increase the capacity of the transmission of high voltage electric power, that originates in the provinces bordering Costa Rica (Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro) to the Panamanian capital.

Those interested in prequalifying must submit their proposals between eight to ten a.m. on next Friday, July 27th, 2018. The prequalified will be announced on Monday, August 13th, 2018.

Important details of the Project:

1. The line originates in the western part of the country with a new substation in Bocas del Toro, called Chiriquí Grande, until the new Panama III Substation.

2. It will be the first transmission line that runs through the Atlantic sector of the country, since the other three transmission lines travel on the Pacific side.

3. It crosses communities of the Ngäbe-Buglé district and the provinces of Bocas del Toro, Veraguas, Colón, Coclé and Panama.

4. The project has been developed for 3 years, and operation will begin in 2022. It has self-supporting towers of 44-61 meters and 2 phases of construction:
