AFME has commented on the Commission’s proposals for changes to laws on Credit Rating Agencies (CRAs). It says it is important to keep the quality, stability and independence of credit ratings, and it is worried that ESMA’s proposed power to suspend sovereign ratings may damage the independence of the CRA sector.
