The Canada Revenue Agency (the “CRA”) and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (“CPA Canada”) signed an agreement on November 26, 2014. The agreement is intended to promote collaboration and dialogue between the two organizations. The central part of the agreement includes the creation of seven committees each to be co-chaired by senior representatives from both the CRA and CPA Canada. The seven committees will focus on the following areas: services; compliance, tax administration; scientific research and experimental development, commodity tax, red tape reduction, and training. A description of the committees can be found here:
