After striking a deal on Monday with the Office of the Ohio Consumers' Counsel (OCC), Columbia Gas of Ohio will "spend approximately $20 million per year for new and existing energy efficiency programs for residential and business customers between 2012 and 2016," the OCC said in a news release.

Columbia Gas has offered low-cost home energy audits as well as rebates for "installing cost-effective home energy improvements" since 2009. Under the new agreement, four new residential programs will be offered: an online energy audit, high efficiency heating system rebates, home energy reports, and energy efficiency education for students.
