Earlier this week, Carmel's Plan Commission held the initial public hearing on their proposed Carmel Consolidated Comprehensive Plan (C3 Plan) (view the C3 Plan here with the C3 Plan Land Classification Map found on page 45). The C3 Plan seeks to update and re-format the Carmel/Clay Comprehensive Plan and addresses the long-range development plans and strategies for all of Clay Township. This document will provide a guide for development in Clay Township and will be a factor in the decisions of the Plan Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals.

The Plan Commission specifically encouraged interested persons to submit in writing any suggested revisions to the C3 Plan text and map. These written comments should be submitted to:

Carmel City Hall

Department of Community Services

Attn: Adrienne Keeling

1 Civic Square

Carmel, IN 46032

or via e-mail to [email protected]

A special committee of the Plan Commission will hold a series of three public meetings to address comments and questions. These meetings are scheduled for the following Tuesdays beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Carmel City Hall:

  • Tuesday, September 9, 2008
  • Tuesday, September 23, 2008
  • Tuesday, October 14, 2008

If you are involved in development within Carmel and Clay Township, it is critical that you become familiar with the C3 Plan, submit in writing your suggested revisions, and attend the committee meetings.
