Among its conclusions adopted in relation to Lamfalussy Levels 1 and 2 the Council stresses the importance for the European Commission to set realistic transposition and implementation deadlines taking into account the Level 2 measures. The Council also undertakes to limit the use of national discretions and 'gold-plating' to the minimum extent necessary and invites the European Parliament to do the same. Among its conclusions adopted in relation to Lamfalussy Level 3 the Council invites the Commission to clarify the role of the Level 3 committees by April 2008.
