The draft Constitution review was presented to the press on 5 January 2016 and was approved by the Council of Ministers on 11 January 201. At the present time, the draft is being fine-tuned by the Constitutional Council pending a reasoned opinion and should be adopted by Parliament at the beginning of this year.

It should be noted that, for the purposes of rights and freedoms, an Article 37 was added, which provides that:

“Freedom of investment and trade is recognised. This freedom is exercised pursuant to the law.

The State is working to improve the business climate. The State is, without discrimination, encouraging companies to serve the national economic development. The State regulates the market.

The law protects the rights of consumers.

The law prohibits monopolies and unfair competition. “

On the basis of this Article the State is taking steps towards economic liberalism, while maintaining its role as the market regulator.
