Senate Interior Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Jack Reed (D-RI) and ranking member Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) released a draft fiscal year 2012 appropriations bill for the Department of Interior and Environmental Protection Agency last week that leaves out the list of House Republican riders to the same plan that target EPA programs. The legislation, the last of the 12 Senate spending bills to be unveiled and the only one that has not yet received a markup in the committee, funds the two agencies at $29.3 billion for fiscal year 2012, a $216 million cut from last year, but more than the House bill. The draft could be included in a future minibus appropriations package.
