Claimant underwent a bilateral breast augmentation and mastopexy, carried out by Defendant, at a private hospital. Defendant made errors in creating sub-muscular pockets and failed to free the muscle in the inner lower quadrant, causing implants to sit too high on chest wall. Claimant was left with gross asymmetry, with the left nipple higher than the right and each breast was left with a double mound. Claimant would require corrective surgery and would be absent from work for one month.
Out of court settlement: £21,500 (estimated General Damages £13,500).
