The Home Office launched a pilot scheme yesterday which will remind individual visa holders whose permission to stay in the UK is due to expire that they must either apply for further leave to remain, or depart from the UK.

Visa holders whose leave to remain in the UK will expire in June 2013 will be randomly selected to take part in the scheme. People with these visas will receive a letter, email or text message reminding them to either make a visa extension application or to make plans to depart before their permission to stay expires. They will receive further reminders 1 month, and then 7 days before their leave expires.

If you receive a reminder from the Home Office as part of this scheme and are confused about what action to take, please contact a member of the PBI team who will be delighted to assist.
