Workers at the Carlsberg factory in Copenhagen went on strike in April following a change in working conditions for drivers and warehouse workers. Stripped of their right to consume up to three free bottles of beer a day outside of lunchtime hours, the workers have been reduced to just one beer with their lunch. The previous regime included a restriction that workers could not be drunk during the working day, but this was the responsibility of the individual to monitor. Carlsberg had been planning to tighten up on the policy for some time – it was unfortunate that it chose 1 April to implement it. Cheers!
