The FCC has set a deadline of September 20 for receipt of its Fiscal Year 2013 annual regulatory fees. Fees are owed on all authorizations held on October 1, 2012.

Regardless of the method of payment, the process must be initiated through the FCC’s on-line Fee Filer system. Full payment must be received by the September 20 deadline in order to avoid the 25% late payment penalty, plus interest and processing fees.

Please note that you will not receive a bill from the FCC. Instead, it is requiring that licensees determine the extent of their obligation and obtain information on-line through its Fee Filer system. The Commission made a few adjustments to the 2013 regulatory fees it had proposed in May, so we attach a final list for your reference. Low Power, Class A, and TV Translator/Booster stations operating in both analog and digital mode should take special care to follow the special instructions for their fees. Also, be sure to add the payment for your actual complement of auxiliaries in use. The failure to pay all the fees when due will incur late penalties when the Commission does catch up with the errors, with the possible result of being flagged on the FCC “red-light” list and becoming ineligible from obtaining action on any applications pending or to be filed at the Commission.

If you plan to pay your fees directly, detailed instructions are available on the FCC’s website at: Click on View Fee Information and Exempt Status for any Broadcast Property to look up the specific fee for any station by call sign or facility id.
