From 6 April the minimum contributions under the auto-enrolment legislation increased to 5%. This includes a minimum 2% contribution from the employer, with the employee contributing a minimum of 3%.

  • Prior to 6 April the minimum contribution was 2% of qualifying earnings, with a minimum of 1% of that being an employer contribution
  • From 6 April 2019, employers will need to contribute a minimum of 3%, with the employees contributing a minimum of 5%
  • Both employers and employees can choose to contribute more should they wish to
