On 20 April 2017, after an in-depth investigation, the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority ("FCCA") unconditionally approved the acquisition of Konekesko Ltd's Yamarin boat business by Yamaha Motor Europe N.V. Both parties are active on the markets for motor boats and other recreational machinery and equipment. Yamaha Motor Europe N.V., part of Yamaha Motor Company Ltd., will acquire the manufacturing outsourcing and sales of Yamarin and Yamarin Cross recreational boats, the sales of Finnmaster, TG-Boats and Zodiac motor boats, as well as the importing and sales of Yamaha's recreational machinery and equipment.

On 20 January 2017, the FCCA opened an in-depth investigation to assess whether the proposed acquisition would harm competition on the Finnish motor boats market, since Yamaha and Konekesko are major competitors. The FCCA conducted an economic assessment on the potential upward pricing pressure and the factors counterbalancing it: cost-savings gained through the acquisition, increased supply chain efficiency for boats and outboard motors, as well as market entry. According to the FCCA, the efficiencies created by the acquisition will outweigh the majority of the harmful effects on competition. Further, there are no barriers to entry or expansion. Therefore, the FCCA concluded that the acquisition is unlikely to significantly impede competition or to result in significant price increases for motorboats, outboard motors or leisure-time machines and devices in Finland. Consequently, the FCCA approved the acquisition.
