On May 28, 2014, Madeleine Donahue of Norton Rose Fulbright and Jeremy Wyant of SCI Marketview hosted a seminar on the upcoming Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). The presentation was built around the CASL guidance and the law’s consequences on businesses focused on storing and handling consumer information, as SCI Marketview, a leader in the digital marketing arena for the automotive industry.

CASL promotes the eradication of spam and related threats to e-commerce as well as conducting business in a secure marketplace. The law’s key provisions will come into force on July 1, 2014.

Attendees included auto dealers, manufacturers, automotive lenders and third party service providers.
