The Asian Development Bank issued a report August 15 urging the country to take more adequate steps to pave the way for green, resource-friendly cities as it faces rapid urbanization. The annual publication, Key Indicators for Asia and the Pacific 2012, provided data and analysis of social, economic, financial, environmental, and Millennium Development Goal progress for its 48 regional members, and included a chapter addressing the region’s rapid urbanization and necessary environmentally sustainable measures.
