The ICO’s warning came on the back of reports that an employee of a solicitor’s firm was, this week, fined by magistrates under section 55 of the Data Protection Act 1998 for taking documents, which included the sensitive personal data of those involved in legal proceedings, from his former employer for use at a rival firm.
