This afternoon, the House of Representatives, as anticipated, passed the energy bill on a vote of 235-181. Among other provisions, the bill increases CAFÉ standards, includes a nationwide RPS, and repeals a variety of tax breaks for the oil and gas industry. The bill faces an almost certain filibuster in the Senate, if it even gets that far. The White House has promised a veto, too. We'd rate as low the odds of Congress enacting an energy bill during this session.
