A total of approximately 1.648 million trademark registration applications have been received by SAIC in 2012, amounting cumulatively to 11.36 million registration applications over decades. By 2012, China stays the record high as No.1 worldwide in trademark applications, registrations and validity volume cumulatively. This embodies a good drive for China’s strategy of service innovation and economic development.

To enhance trademark enforcement, the authorities are going to initiate two information platforms “Trademark Administrative Enforcement” and “Interface between Administrative and Criminal Enforcement” in 2013. With the amendments to China’s Trademark Law to be in force, the trademark registration and enforcement systems will likely be sound, efficient and quality-oriented.
