• The FCC has released the Tentative Agenda for its next Open Meeting on August 3, 2012, at 10:30 am Eastern. It contains two items: a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on modernizing the cable rules to encourage the transition to digital technology; and a multi-part item regarding measures to streamline the regulation of Fixed Service wireless spectrum.   • On July 28, 2012, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski testified before the House Small Business Committee at its hearing titled “Digital Divide: Expanding Broadband Access to Small Businesses.” He highlighted the Commission’s efforts on Universal Service reform and cybersecurity education among “a number of actions to help more small businesses seize the opportunities of broadband.” The Chairman’s written testimony is available here.
