In its Business Plan 2015/16 the FCA has announced its intention to review the barriers to competition in the mortgage sector, with a view to launch a market study in the first quarter of 2016. The FCA haspublished a Call for Inputs as the first stage towards that work. The call seeks to invite views (supported by evidence where possible) on a range of factors that may affect competition in the provision of loans secured against a property, whether regulated or unregulated. The deadline for comments is the 18 December 2015, with a view to the FCA publishing a Feedback Statement summarising its analysis of the responses in the first quarter of 2016.
