FOS has published its latest Ombudsman News. This issue looks at cases relating to bad weather and insurance claims and includes statistics on claims from the third quarter of the 2012/13 financial year. 80% of the claims related to payment protection insurance (PPI), with the only other significant percentages (all 3.5% or under) relating to other banking products – credit cards, current accounts, mortgages, and overdrafts and loans. 62% of the PPI claims in the year to date have been resolved in favour of the consumer, as opposed to 82% for the entire previous year. The figure has dropped each quarter. (Source: Ombudsman News Issue 107)
