On Tuesday, SB 1765, that we had previously reported on, as prefiled was introduced before the Oklahoma Senate. This legislation is known as the "Geologic Storage of Carbon Dioxide Act." The bill says that, "The geologic storage of carbon dioxide will benefit the citizens of the state and the state's environment by reducing green house gas emissions." It establishes that the regulatory authority for sequestration in Oklahoma will be called the State Regulatory Agency, which will be comprised of the Corporation Commission and the Department of Environmental Quality.
