The Advisory Committee for the Future of Banks in the Netherlands (Adviescommissie Toekomst Banken) has presented its report ‘Restoring Trust’. The Advisory Committee on the Future of Banks in the Netherlands (Adviescommissie Toekomst Banken) was set up in November 2008 by the Board of the Netherlands Bankers’ Association (Nederlandse Vereniging van Banken). The Committee’s main duty is to issue recommendations to improve the functioning of the Dutch banking sector, thus providing tools that will help to restore confidence in the banks.The Committee, headed by Cees Maas, primarily considers the responsibility of banks. Finance Minister Bos has endorsed the Committee’s recommendations.
