On March 23, President Obama signed HR 3590, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), into law. A week later, the President signed the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act, which made certain changes to H.R. 3590. Many agencies within the Executive Branch, including HHS, CMS, the Department of Labor, and the IRS, have begun implementing the hundreds of directives and responsibilities they now face. Among the comprehensive changes impacting health care providers, employers, and individuals is the creation of several new advisory boards and panels.
In an effort to help clients better understand the implementation of health care reform, Sonnenschein has released a document that highlights opportunities for industries and individuals to play a role in enacting various provisions of health care reform.
Specifically, this document outlines every section of health care reform law that establishes a new board, commission, or advisory panel. The document also outlines every section that calls for stakeholder involvement with respect to the implementation of health care reform.
