Three watch importers face antimonopoly proceedings brought by UOKIK, the Polish Competition Authority.
The three importers – Swatch Group (Polska), Przedsiębiorstwo Handlowo–Usługowe Jubiler and Anyro&Co – hold exclusive rights in Poland to sell brands such as: Swatch, Tissot, Certina, Longines, Rado, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Kenneth Cole, Citizen, Armani, Fossil, Diesel and Adidas.
UOKIK suspects that minimum retail prices for the watches have been imposed by or agreed with their distributors. This practice is prohibited and was something UOKiK uncovered amongst others during dawn raids of the importers’ premises.
According to UOKIK, these are three of around 30 sets of anti-competitive proceedings for anti-competitive agreements that it currently has underway.
