BBA, BSA and the UK Cards Association are not pleased with FSA's proposals to change BCOBS in respect of the right of set-off. They comment that FSA is trying to go further than the standards the Lending Standards Board has published and monitors, and should have spoken to industry and the LSB before trying to introduce potentially conflicting rules. While industry agrees in principle with many of FSA's proposals, it feels the way FSA is addressing critical points is wrong.
