On September 12, 2017, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published in the Federal Register a request for information [USCBP-2017-0035] relating to its implementation of Executive Order 13771, “Reducing Regulation and Controlling Regulatory Costs,” issued by the President on January 30, 2017, and Executive Order 13777, “Enforcing the Regulatory Reform Agenda,” issued by the President on February 24, 2017. As part of its implementation, CBP is seeking comments and information from interested parties to assist CBP in identifying existing regulations, paperwork requirements, and other regulatory obligations that can be modified or repealed, consistent with law, to achieve savings of time and money while continuing to achieve CBP’s statutory obligations.
