The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to begin mark-up of S. 1720, Patent Transparency and Improvements Act of 2013 at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday March 27, 2014.  Also on the agenda (prior to the S. 1720 hearing) is a string of nominations.  It is not clear from the Committee’s redesigned website whether it will be broadcast live - however, if you miss it, you should be able to watch a recording here.

Both CUNA and NAFCU have voiced their support for recent patent reform measures.

Earlier this month, Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) issued the following statement: “Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee have been working on meaningful, targeted legislation to combat patent abuses in our system.  As chairman of the Committee, I am committed to ensuring we move forward with meaningful legislation this spring.”
