ECB’s Decision on the total amount of annual supervisory fees for 2016 has been published in the OJEU. It sets out that supervisory fees for the banks are to be €404.5 million for the year. ECB issued a press release on the matter, noting that this represents an increase of 23.9% on the amount invoiced in 2015. ECB explains that there are 129 significant banks to pay 88.4% of this, whilst 3,200 less significant banks will pay 11.6%. It also comments that these fees reflect a thorough analysis of ECB’s experiences over the first year of carrying out its supervisory tasks.
