The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) was successful earlier this year in its application for judicial review of the Employment Equality (Sex Discrimination) Regulations 2005, which amended the SDA. The High Court found that the regulations did not adequately implement the Equal Treatment Directive, and the government was obliged to make further amendments. The amendments, one of which is expected to be a wider definition of harassment so as to include third party conduct, are expected to come into force on 1 October 2007.
